Design Process

Step 1:

  • Source WWII US Army sleeping bag cover to upcycle as fabric\

  • Seam ripped bag to create flat fabric pieces

Step 2:

  • Determined pattern placement and cut self-drafted pattern pieces

Step 3:

  • Sewed/ constructed mini skirt

  • Added elastic and drawstring at waist

Step 4:

  • Constructed halter top with oversized cargo pocket

  • Created 3 horizontal channels parallel to one another on center back of bodice

  • Fed elastic through channels to create smocking effect

  • Add mother-of-pearl button to oversized cargo pocket
