Design Process

Step 1:

  • Source silk shirt and linen skirt

  • Cut up silk shirt into small organic shapes

  • Use pant hanger clasp to hold silk pieces and burn the edges with a lighter

Step 2:

  • Shorten linen skirt length

  • Create silk top base

Step 3:

  • Pin silk pieces to base and finalize layout

Step 4:

  • Machine stitch base layers of silk pieces on base garments

  • Hand stitch/ tack down top layer silk pieces for clean finish

Step 5:

  • Finish covering garment in silk pieces

  • Add grommets to center back of bodice for closure
